The Australian Bahá'í publishing trust was founded in 1976 by the National Spiritual Assembly in response to a goal given to Australia in the Five Year Plan by the Universal House of Justice
The mission of Bahá'í Publications Australia has been to maximise the benefits of a central distribution system by ensuring that a wide diversity of Bahá'í literature was available at all times for the ever increasing number of Bahá'ís in Australia at the lowest possible price.
Today BPA maintains a list of over one thousand titles in English and foreign languages. From the beginning, Bahá'í Publications Australia (BPA) endeavoured to be self-funding rather than drawing upon the donations of the believers. Surpluses were and are used to expand the range of services and titles available, and to ensure that stocks are available when needed for teaching and proclamation. For instance, BPA's freecall number (1800 251 022 or for residents in Victoria 03 9357 1880) is in every white pages telephone directory in the country even where there are no Bahá'ís.
Over half a million dollars worth of books, pamphlets, posters and videos are on hand ready for despatch to customers around Australia or around the world within two working days of receiving the order.
