LOVE LIFT ME HIGHER

Meditations on Finding True Happiness Love Lift Me Higher brings together the science of love and happiness with Baha’i Writings, as well as other Holy Scriptures.
How often did the Beloved Master express the hope that the hearts of the believers would overflow with love for one another, that they would abode no lines of separation, but would regard all of humanity even as one family," states the 2010 The Ridvan message from the Universal House of Justice. "'Is it not the object of every Revelation', He Himself proclaims, 'to effect a transformation in the whole character of mankind, a transformation that shall manifest itself, both outwardly and inwardly, that shall affect both its inner life and external conditions?' . . . Only as efforts is made to draw on insights from His Revelation, to tap into the accumulating knowledge of the human race, to apply His teachings intelligently to the life of humanity . . . will the necessary learning occur and capacity be developed."

Love Lift Me Higher brings together the science of love and happiness with Baha’i Writings, as well as other Holy Scriptures. The Master, 'Abdu'l-Bahá, often greeted the friends with a simple question: "Are you happy? Are you happy?" He bade everyone to be happy no matter where they were or what were their conditions. Thanks to the relatively new field of positive psychology, science has now shown us what it takes to be happy, and these prerequisites are in harmony with the Teachings of Baha'u'llah and 'Abdu'l-Bahá. According to research, happiness comes from service, supportive relationships (love), a sense of purpose, meaningful work, and being involved in something greater than oneself. Happiness is about where you are going and whom you love.

The book includes selections from Holy Scriptures that relate to the relatively new science of Happiness Research and includes topics such as love, trustworthiness, forgiveness, gratitude, humility, and service—all with the purpose of helping readers to learn how to love more purely, how to live in gratitude, how to get go of resentments and forgive more deeply, how to appreciate others rather than judge, how to overcome ego and move towards humility, and generally how to find more happiness and friendship in daily life. And to understand more fully the 2008 Universal House of Justice in its 2008 Ridvan message: "May they be diligent in their efforts to establish ties of friendship that show no regard for prevalent social barriers and ceaselessly endeavour to bind hearts together in the love of God."
